Heatons LLP offers a fresh approach to the provision of construction advice.
Our construction group handles both contentious and non contentious matters on behalf of a wide range of clients, from specialist subcontractors to large main contractors and from local councils to major development companies and banks.
The team of specialist practitioners includes both surveyors and lawyers with first hand industry experience.
We have extensive experience in the resolution of construction related disputes whether in mediation, adjudication, arbitration or litigation and ranging in value from under £10,000 to multi million pound claims.
We have particular expertise in adjudication proceedings and in the enforcement of adjudicator’s awards.
We are experts in the drafting and negotiation of all types of construction contract, including sub-contracts, consultants’ appointments, building and engineering contracts and development and joint venture agreements. Our experience covers the full suite of JCT contracts (including the JCT sub-contract suite), ICE contracts, IChemE contracts, FIDIC contracts, DOM 1 & 2 and NEC contracts, amongst others.
Heatons offers partner led, service driven and cost effective advice that is appreciated by our clients. Whilst we pride ourselves on the level of service that we provide, we also have what we like to think is a different approach to fees. As we have both quantity surveying and legal capability our advice can be tailored to suit not only the requirements of the client, but also your budget. This means that none of our clients is prevented from access to the right advice on the grounds of costs alone. We can offer free initial analysis, no win, no fee arrangements and fixed or capped fees wherever appropriate.
We can also offer tailored packages to act on all qualifying work in return for a monthly retainer, depending upon the volume of work that is envisaged. This helps clients to control their legal spend and cashflow, whilst ensuring access to high quality advice without worrying about the eventual bill.
