grassroots football, get onside

We are proud to sponsor and support AC Hoylake JFC, a local Wirral-based grassroots club, with a membership of more than 500 boys and girls, in over 40 teams, between the ages of 5-18. The club ethos is to ensure that ALL children have the opportunity to take part in and enjoy football from a young age. The coaches aim to develop the talent and confidence of players through a mix of training, mini-soccer and junior football matches while at the same time having fun. Youth football is an excellent way to teach players, both young and old, the importance of camaraderie, friendship and teamwork.

AC Hoylake Comets

In 2015 our Commercial Director (Marketing Manager at the time), Danny Young, was persuaded enter into grass roots coaching and took charge of the then, U7 AC Hoylake Comets.

Managing Director, David Fielding, kindly offered to support, and sponsor the new team's kit. As the years have passed, it's been great to see the team develop and mature, picking up a few nice accolades along the way.

Take a look at the slides and see their progress throughout the years.

Ending the junior season with a high.

The comets won their final game in junior football in the Eastham League Top Cup Final, having worked their way up from the lowest division back in 2016.

Super keen and fresh-faced, the U7's Comets received their new Heatons Office Solutions sponsored team kit.

Starting out in Division 5 of the Eastham league in 5v5 format, they enjoyed a good first season and were the winners of the Claire House Cup in an end of season tournament.

A few more players joined the ranks and the team grew from strength to strength.

After a slow start to the season, the Comets kicked on after Christmas to eventually win the league and promotion to Division 4.

They weren't finished there though, also impressively winning the final of the the Division 5 Top Cup 5-0, to cap-off a great season.

Moving into 7v7, the Comets motored on and made it back-to-back promotions as they romped to the Division 4 title.

Having developed a taste for victory, they once again brought home the silverwear, this time winning the middle cup final and the Glenavon tournament top cup.

They didn't quite make it a treble of promotions but did well all the same with a mid-table Division 3 finish.

It was, however, a third cup in three seasons as they won the invitational cup 1-0 in a tight fought encounter.

After an initial season finding their feet in Division 3, the team mounted another promotion push, finishing 2nd to book their ticket in Division 2 as they moved into the 11v11 format.

The team were quickly developing a reputation of playing football the "right way", playing out from the back and through the thirds.

The year the world was turned upside down by a global pandemic.

After a slow start to the season, the team really kicked on after Christmas, only to see the season suspended for safety reasons as Covid-19 spread throughout the world.

Back to some semblance of normality, the Comets were back in action sporting their new Heatons Group kit following the company rebrand.

Having found their level in Division 2 the team competed well to achieve a mid-table finish.

shaping the future of grassroots football

Paul Williams, our Purchasing Manager, has been volunteering at AC Hoylake JFC for over 20 years. He first became involved when his youngest son became a member and he has since assumed the role of chairman, overseeing the full running of the club.

Athletic Club Hoylake (AC Hoylake) was established in 2001 to address the need for a local junior football club in Hoylake and West Kirby. With new teams introduced every season, it now has over 500 players in 41 teams, including a thriving girls’ section.

The club ethos is to ensure that ALL children have the opportunity to take part in and enjoy football from a young age. The coaches aim to help develop their technique and skills through a mix of training, mini-soccer and junior football matches in a safe, fun environment and the measure of their success is based on the numbers who return to play each week.

ac hoylake promotional video

take a look at the promotional video we recorded and edited for their website.

We visited their end of season presentation to capture some great footage showcasing what a great community club this is.

Listening to interviews with the coaches and committee members, it's clear that the club is completely focused on providing a safe and fun environment for children to enjoy their football.

Splicing together footage from presentation day, a training session, as well as some drone content from a match, we were able to create a great promotional piece that really captures the essence of the club.
